September 2026

Its September and believe it or not, its time for pumpkin spiced lattΓ©e!

Did you know that in Roman times, our calendar was only 10 months, Starting in March. September was actually the 7th month, and its name comes from the Latin word septem, which means "seven".

Later Romans added Jan and Feb, making September the 9th month, but the name stuck.

September Holidays to Note!

Monday September 7th - Labor Day

Friday, September 11th - Patriot Day and Rosh Hashanah: Begins sundown on September 11 through September 13 (Jewish New Year)

Saturday, September 12th- Sunday, September 13th - Rosh Hashanah

Sunday, September 13th - Grandparents Day

Monday, September 21st - Yom Kippur: Begins sundown on September 20 to September 21 (Day of Atonement)

Tuesday, September 22nd - First Day of Autumn

September 26th - Full moon called the Harvest moon

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH!

Dwayne is our highlight of the month, and it is also HIS 65th BIRTHDAY Sept 2nd!

If you live here, there is zero chance you don't know Dwayne. He is the highlight of the building. The first person that you see when you leave (or come in) during the day.

Dwayne grew up in Chicago, and has been in this building for 29yrs. Here are some VERY remarkable facts about him.

He is a former Amateur boxer, for 13 years, and has won 20+ championships!

He was a bodybuilder for over 5 years, and an MMA fighter for 5 years.

He used to run 3 night clubs, 3 restaurants, and 2 personal training gyms.

He owned and ran the Pops Italian Beef restaurant right around the corner from 1660!

He is also a licensed NRA Firearms instructor and on a shooting team!

In his down time, he loves vacationing to Poland, riding his motorcycle (doing his annual Arizona trip, riding 1200 miles), he is a car enthusiast (his favorite car being the 1965 Buick Riveria GS), listening to old school house music, techno and goth!

This man also has a strong moral compass. He follows his life in Jesus's footsteps. He loves people, He loves life, He sees life as a great adventure, even when things are rough.

If he's not working, he's helping other people in whatever way he can. We are so lucky to have him at 1660, and we may never let him retire!

If you see Dwayne, this is THE month to show you care!! Don't be shy, he loves sweets, and grilled meats! πŸ˜‰
