1660 May Newsletter

May 2026

This month of May is a solemn month, and this newsletter comes with a heavy heart.

As everyone knows Barbara, she has been out on leave, due to the sudden passing of her Husband. We are feeling very heavy hearted about her loss. For anyone interested in details, the office will share funeral/visiting hours, if the family wishes.

Last month, we highlighted Lauren as Staff of the month, and in a recent turn of events,

Lauren suddenly passed away. Another hard hit to us. We will share details once available, honoring her families wishes.

Please keep the two in your thoughts, as their families are going through a lot. Once Barbara returns, be sure to support her in any small way you feel comfortable, I know she loves getting hugs.

For this reason, the social committee has decided to forego social events we were planning this month.

May Holidays

Sunday, May 10th - Mother’s Day

Tuesday, May 12th - International Nurses Day

Monday, May 25th - Memorial Day

Tuesday, May 26th - Eid al-Adha

In honor of community, our May holidays are about family and service.

Mothers day was last weekend. It is truly the role that serves every human, as... we all came from a mother. Everyone has a mother, If you are lucky to have a mom still around, give her a call. If you are a mom, take a nice breather and enjoy your hard work! :)

May 12th is International Nurses day. Nurses don't get enough recognition. If you know a nurse, send them a message. We really lean on them (literally) for the nitty gritty and the big stuff.

May 25th is Memorial Day. Although it is a day that we begin our summer weather, it is still a day to commemorate and remember those that have served our country.

May 26th is Eid-al-Adha: This is a holiday celebrated in honor of Abraham, on his devotion and faith, when he was "tested" to sacrifice his son. It is a holiday that is celebrated by Muslims, by distributing food and clothing to the less fortunate, while gathering with family for gratitude.
